Welcome to Apical Endodontics! We strive to provide the highest standards in endodontic care. We understand that the word ‘Root Canal’ may have a negative connotation and often, patients are understandably nervous about this procedure. For your appointment, we want to convey all information to you in a clear manner, answer all pertinent questions and ease your concerns as much as possible so your apprehension is reduced. Our goal is to improve the retention of your natural tooth while reducing treatment related stress. The mission of our practice is to perform outstanding endodontic treatment, be gentle and caring to patients, and be available for emergencies.

Dr. David C. Han
Dr. David Han is a Board Certified Endodontist with Master of Science degrees in Biomedical Sciences/Immunology and Oral Biology. He received his endodontic training from UCLA. He strives to make sure patients understand their treatment, are as comfortable as possible and that kindness is stressed from beginning to end. Dr. Han teaches part-time as the Clinic Director of UCLA School of Dentistry’s Endodontic Post-graduate Clinic and also helps oversee their surgical program.
Dr. Han is married with two children. In his spare time, he loves to spend time with his family, help with church activities and cook.
Dr. Christopher S. Chun
Dr. Christopher Chun is an endodontist who received both his dental degree and endodontic specialty training from UCLA School of Dentistry. He is passionate about endodontics and eager to serve patients with genuine care and concern. Dr. Chun also teaches part-time at UCLA School of Dentistry.
In his spare time, he likes to play tennis, run, watch movies and spend time with family and friends.
Dr. Catherine H. Kim
Dr. Catherine Kim is an endodontist who received her dental degree from UCLA, a general practice residency from Stony Brook University Hospital in New York, and an Endodontic specialty training from UCLA.
Dr. Kim has excellent dental/endodontic biologic knowledge and is technically skilled. She is conscientious, ethical and caring and will surely gain the trust and favor of all patients. Dr. Kim also teaches part-time at UCLA School of Dentistry.
In her free time, Dr. Kim loves to spend time with family, take walks, do pilates and search for great brunch spots with her husband!
Dr. Laurel Martinez
Dr. Laurel Martinez is a Board Certified Endodontist who received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Harvard School of Dental Medicine. She continued her training to specialize in Endodontics at UCLA. Dr. Martinez's training and experience provides patients with quality care and comfortable chair-side manner. She strives to make sure patients understand their treatment options and are as comfortable as possible from beginning to end. Dr. Martinez teaches part-time at UCLA School of Dentistry and continues to stay informed on dental science & new technologies by participating in continuing education courses.
During her free time, she enjoys running, cycling, and spending quality time with her husband and their dog, Mike.
Dr. Kevin J Song
Dr. Kevin Song received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Michigan School of Dentistry. He went on to a General Practice Residency and subsequently practiced general dentistry. He later found his true calling and continued his education specializing in Endodontics at UCLA. His passion for endodontics along with his compassion for patients makes him a perfect fit for our community. Dr. Song teaches part-time at UCLA School of Dentistry and continues to stay informed with up to date continuing education.
During his free time, Dr. Song enjoys spending time with his wife and awesome son.
